For many decades, DJs favored the industry-standard Technics SL-1200 turntables for spinning vinyl, which made its debut in 1972. However, couple of years ago, the much-loved turntable was discontinued, as CDJs and Serato flooded the DJ scene, replacing turntables for the modern gadgets. Luckily, another Japanese electronics giant, Pioneer is looking to fill the void by launching this PLX-1000 turntable. It is no surprise that this turntable basis many of its functions on the legendary SL-1200, offering improvements to adapt to the modern digital age. Notable improvements include the high-torque direct drive system, which provides an impressive starting torque of 4.5kg/cm and reaches 33 1/3 rpm in mere 0.3 seconds. A heavy-duty construction all around offers toughness for professional use, while removable power cables and AC cables makes these more portable.
