After a prolonged absence, Japanese electronics giant Sharp is once again entering the U.S. mobile market, shipping the AQUOS Crystal Smartphone to our shores in sometime in the near future. The device has decidedly mid-range specs – 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400, 1.5GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage (with MicroSD slot) and a 5-inch 720p display. What should attract prospective buyers is what surrounds the screen — or, more specifically, what doesn’t, as the handheld is virtually bezel-less. Aside from its striking appearance, the AQUOS Crystal runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat Sprint’s latest features, including HD voice, Wi-Fi calling, Harmon Kardon speakers and support for the faster Spark LTE network. Look for the device to launch here in the U.S. for Sprint, plus Boost Mobile and Virgin.
