The E63 S — the fastest-ever E-Class — isn’t the only major vehicle announcement to come from Mercedes yesterday. It’s long been known that the German automotive giant has been hard at work on its own pickup truck and now we finally have our first look at the fruits of that labor. Behold: the X-Class Concept.

Intended to show off the ideas that may ultimately inform the design of the actual production model, the X-Class comes in the form of a mid-size pickup intended for the European, South African, Australian and Latin American markets (sorry, America). While tech specs remain unknown, the sleek design shares a platform with the Nissan NP300 Navara and comes powered by a diesel engine.

Check out the “powerful adventurer” above and stay tuned for more info regarding Mercedes’s long-awaited pickup.
