After Kentucky’s NCAA Final Four win, Drake stopped by the Kentucky Wildcats locker room to congratulate them on their advancement to the championships. The team beat University of Wisconsin Badgers 74-73.
According to Fox News, the team was excited to meet the “Draft Day” rapper as he gave the guys words of encouragement. “That’s great. He just told us to stay confident, and it’s on us now,” said point guard Andrew Harrison. “Just keep playing and don’t be satisfied, so that was exciting for all of us.”
To say Drake is just a fan would be an understatement. The rapper has been praised by the team in past. In 2012, he received an honorary championship ring, narrated a documentary for the school’s basketball program titled “Bluegrass Kingdom: The Gospel of Kentucky Basketball” and has coached an alumni charity game.
When asked how long he’s been a Kentucky fan, the rapper replied “Always.”
