6’5″ James Harden appeared at the Essence Music Festival with Trey Songz and the 5’2″ Kevin Hart before heading over to the Jax Brewery to celebrate Hart’s birthday at his “Hart of the City” party.

If you enjoyed Kevin Hart’s last two stand up films then you will definetly enjoy his latest “Let Me Explain” which is in theaters now and setting records for a concert film. Let me explain, the stand up comedy grossed $10 million this weekend (17,460 total) in only 876 theaters which gives it an average of $11,530 per screen. That per screen average is more than Man of Steel and World War Z combined. This isn’t that big of a surprise because his last film “Laugh at my Pain” earned 7.7 million and never played in more than 300 theaters.

The film still has a bit to go before reaching ”Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip” ($36 million), “The Original Kings of Comedy” ($38 million) and “Eddie Murphy Raw” ($50 million) but it’s on pace to reach those. Keep in mind inflation is not considered and the large amount of more screens so actually Live on the Sunset Strip adjusted box office would look more like a $100 million blockbuster. Anyways, congrats to Kevin Hart.
