JR Smith enjoys the fruits of his labors. However Knicks fans would be able to sleep a whole lot easier at night if the streaky guard decided to wait until after the playoffs to eat them.

During game-five of their first round Celtics series, JR had one of his worst games of the year after a heavy partying and ratchetness. And while he was able to close Boston out in game-six, his nightlife decisions were well-documented.

That’s not to say he hasn’t been enjoying the best year of his career, walking away with the Sixth Man of the Year Award and leading the Knicks to the second-seed in the Eastern Conference. But the New Jersey native has even admitted that going out his hindered his performance in the past.

“I’m not going to lie. The New York City nightlife pretty much got to me”
And later today, he will be facing Indiana Pacers in the first game of the second round of the NBA Playoffs. So how exactly did he spend his night last night? He was at Jay-Z’s 40/40 club watching the fight of course.

The main event didn’t even come on until 11:30, so you already know he went crazy up in there. Where ever JR goes, you can rest assured that a flock of groupie follows. He probably didn’t get home until four in the morning!

While this surely isn’t what coaches or fans want to see, JR is always going to do what he wants, when he wants to do it. That’s the double-edged sword of playing in New York. The people love you but won’t stop sucking every move you make. Just drop buckets and everything will be good JR.
