Have you heard of Yacht Island Design? This amazing company is striving to make major changes in the hatch design industry, most notably with their design concept to recreate the streets of Monaco upon an innovative floating platform…i.e.: a yacht. Leaving the conventional hull shape behind, this company is taking complete and utter creative freedom in order to offer clients a truly unique vacation experience. The Streets of Monaco is the Yacht Island Design’s first design proposal, featuring a theme based on the Mediterraneon principality with the primary focus being the famous grand prix circuit. The idea was to recreate the circuit as a fully functional kart track able to accommodate three karts side by side to allow for plenty of over taking. Designing the track in this way resulted in having to expand the initial overall dimensions of the yacht (which worked out just fine because the extra space allowed for additional landmarks and architectural details to be included). Amenities include water falls, a swim-in Jacuzzi bar, helicopters and submarine rides all within the 155m long (445 square meter) platform. There will be approximately 16 guests and 70 crew members spread over three floors – yes, you read that correctly… the Streets of Monaco yacht will feature a mere seven guest suites, bathrooms, dressing rooms and reception and balcony space.

The projected budget to build is $1.1 billion, deeming this project the world’s most expensive. Is a luxury yacht of this scale worth the money? We have mixed feelings, but our initial thoughts are HECK YES! We love these conceptual renderings and can’t wait to see something like the Streets of Monaco Yacht come to life, and look forward to hearing more about the company’s other designs for floating cities.
