The two football stars in the Steubenville rape case have both been convicted in the rape of the unconscious girl, and both wept in court as the verdict was read.

Trent Mays, 16, and Ma’lik Richmond, 17, were both stars on the Steubenville “Big Red” football team, but now are facing time in the slammer after being found guilty of rape in the high profile case.

Judge Thomas Lipps ruled on Sunday that that the students are guilty of attacking the girl after an alcohol-fueled party last August.

They were each sentenced to one year in juvenile detention centers, and can be held their until they are 21.

In addition, they have been ordered to avoid contact with the 16-year-old girl until she turns 21

The girl said during her testimony that she was unable to remember the events of August 11th, 2012, the night of the attack.

When she woke up, she was naked in an unfamiliar house.

The two boys offered their apologies to the girl after the verdict was read.
