It’s been a long time coming, but the Los Angeles Clippers have finally decided to fire, or dismiss, head coach Vinny Del Negro. According to Yahoo! Sports, the orginization has finally decided to part ways with the third-year LA coach.

This comes just days after their disappointing first round loss to the Memphis Grizzlies in this year’s playoffs.

Del Negro has been in the hot seat for the past year now and this was no doubt the deciding season for his future. With a stacked roster, including floor general Chris Paul and high-flyer Blake Griffin, there is no excuse for their early
dismissal in the postseason.

It will be interesting to see what the Clippers decide to do next with the decision of who to hire. Also, will we see any major roster changes and perhaps the departure of Blake? Rumors have been swirling about a potential blockbuster trade involving Paul Pierce and the Celtics, so we’ll see.

Expect plenty of changes to continue this offseason as teams are adjusting to the major influx of talent in the league. As for old Vinny? Expect him to take it easy for a bit and just chill out. Maybe he’ll land another job soon as an assistant somewhere.
