Luol Deng who just retired ftom the NBA after 15 seasons in the league is running for South Sudan Basketball presidency. Luol Ajou Deng is a former professional basketball player. He was a two-time NBA Allstar and was named to the NBA All-Defensive Team in 2012. Born in South Sudan, Deng fled the country with his family as a child, eventually settling in the United Kingdom.
Through the his foundation, Luol Deng Foundation, he has been developing and promoting sports in the country.
