This latest colorway of Nike‘s Kevin Durant signature line may have hung in the balance, but the reigning MVP’s decision to re-up with the Swoosh means fans can look forward to nabbing the Nike KD7 “Easy Money” when it drops next week. The color scheme here is inspired by Durant’s “Easy Money” nickname, as well as his personal interest in meteorology. Of course Benjamin Franklin — whose face graces the $100 bill — was himself fascinated by weather, using a kite and key one stormy night in 1752 to experiment with lightning and electricity. The KD7 “Easy Money” consequently uses contrasting colors inspired by the hundred dollar bill. And as with all KD7 colorways, added personal cues include a silhouette of Durant’s home state of Maryland embedded on the outsole, along with the names of his mother Wanda, grandmother Barbara, father Wayne and brother Tony on the forefoot strap. See detailed looks below, and expect the kicks to launch September 10th.
