In an age where the social media market is arguably completely saturated, Samsung has made the strange announcement that it is currently developing a new social network called Waffle, which is currently in its beta version. Developed by Samsung’s experimental C-Lab, the network centers around the action of building a grid around an original photo, with connected users submitting their own contributions to fill out what the company describes as “a communal graffiti wall.” Demoed at the SXSW festival in Austin, Waffle seems to be geared for use between friends, but its privacy settings remain unclear right now. Only time will tell whether Waffle will make it past the development stage, but look for it on iOS and Android if it ever does.
