We all fantasize about one day walking up to an ATM and having it dispense all of its contents without charging any of it to our bank accounts. Just a fantasy?

Tell that to the hundreds that lined up in Glasgow over the weekend when a broken Bank of Scotland ATM was “mis-dispensing” money. How did all of these people know where to go for some free cash? Twitter of course.

The ATM was said to be dispensing twice the requested amount while only charging customers the original amount. Once the bank figured out was going on, the police were sent to disperse the crowd.

When they arrived, they saw a line stretching for blocks- everyone behaving and patiently waiting their turn. The Bank of Scotland will be contracting some customers, but admit that most of them will get away free because there is no way for them to track accounts from other banks.
