Air, Alcohol Inspired Refresher, is getting ready to debut on the market as a nearly tasteless, odorless, and colorless alcoholic drink. Air is malt-based, so it’s makeup is more similar to that of beer.

Drinkspirits.com has offered a first glimpse at the product, which will launch in San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Portland, and Seattle.

Air is available in berry, citrus, and club versions.

The new drink aims to embrace neutrality, with even the flavored versions being lightly flavored. Each can only contains 95 calories, which is significantly less than most malt beverages on the market.

Air is highly carbonated and best when chilled.

The website’s article notes that Air contains significantly less alcohol than a vodka drink of comparable size. Air is sold in 12 oz. cans with an ABV of 4 percent or an overall .48 oz. of alcohol, as opposed to a vodka soda, which offers .8 oz. of alcohol or 13 percent ABV.

Air targets people looking for a good time without necessarily getting drunk. Air’s online videos featured “good clean daytime fun in the outdoors,” according to Brandchannel.com.

Minott Wessinger, founder and CEO of McKenzie River Corporation, which produces Air, said in an interview with The San Francisco Chronicle:
We’re not making something with too much sugar and caffeine. No, this is a thoughtful, revolutionary approach, coming from an innovative idea. Fresh water…the freshest… the main ingredient in a product poised to open a new genre in the alcohol beverage world.
