On Wednesday December 6th, before the the 27th edition of ESPN/ Home Depot College Football Awards presented by GILDAN took place at the College Football Hall of Fame in downtown Atlanta on Thursday, ESPN hosted the Media Day for the College Football Awards candidates.

With conference championship games played and rankings set for upcoming Bowl games and the 2018 College Football Playoffs, the ESPN/ Home Depot College Football Awards celebrate athletes, coaches and fans for the game who have excelled on field during the year and Media Day allows media to connect with athletes and learn about them on and off the field.

Taking his talents from a walk out to a contender to lead his team to a NCAA National Championship, Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield has had an exceptional season. Mayfield in his senior year with the Sooners passed for 41 touchdown and 4,340 passing yards. Mayfield’s talent on the field have earned him the 2017 Heisman Trophy, the Walter Camp award, Maxwell award and Davey O’ Brien award.

While at the 2017 ESPN/Home Depot Media Day, Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield spoke on winning the Heisman Trophy, facing the Georgia Bulldogs in the College Football Playoffs, how he has growth as a player and a man, his favorite Justin Timberlake songs, his thoughts on playing in the NFL, the Rose Bowl and more.
