Why any student ought to be allowed to have a gun on a college campus is beyond us- but Colorado University, on the other hand, believes that students with concealed-carry gun permits should not only be allowed to have them on campus, but should be given special residencies in separate dorms. Surprise, surprise- no one wants to live there.

From the Denver Post:

“A multitude of things could explain the lack of interest. The population of students with permits is minuscule, so it could be that none with a permit is living in a dorm.

But it’s also possible not everyone who is armed is being forthcoming.

There are students with permits attending both campuses, McConnellogue said.

‘I’m not surprised,’ said David Burnett, spokesman for Students for Concealed Carry. ‘You’ve proven you’re legally, responsibly and morally able to carry, then the college comes back and tells you you’ve got to move.’

‘What would you do?’”

Why should students be allowed to have guns on campus in the first place? You would think that after all the high-school and movie theater shootings, that college faculties would try to minimize the accessibility of firearms.

No, no… let’s put them all in one building and label it The Gun Dorms so that when a depressed and mentally unstable student considers slaughtering his class, he knows where to go shopping for his piece.
